Mountain West Dermatology was established in August 2004
after Dr. Hinkson completed his dermatology residency in Michigan. He was recruited by Eastern Idaho Medical Center to come to Idaho Falls.

As the practice continued to grow, Dr. Hinkson brought on Rob Willis, PA-C to further compliment the patient needs. Rob was trained in dermatology skin issues and treatments by Dr. Hinkson. Rob has been with us since 2008.
Since the early days of the practice, Dr. Hinkson has included an esthetician to compliment the medical and cosmetic needs of his patients. He has found great value in the skills and knowledge of his aesthetics staff. Wendy Christiansen joined the practice in early 2018.
We currently have 13 full and part time employees.

Mark Hinkson, D.O.
Board Certified Dermatologist
Dr. Hinkson was born and raised in the central valley of California. He attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with degrees in microbiology and chemistry.
After graduating from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, he completed a traditional rotating internship in upstate New York before moving to Detroit where he completed the Dermatology Residency program at St. John Oakland Hospital in 2004.
Dr. Hinkson is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) , American Ostheopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD), and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). He is licensed to practice medicine in Idaho.
Dr. Hinkson and his family enjoy living in Idaho.
Rob Willis
Physician Assistant Certified
Rob was born and raised here in Idaho Falls. He attented Ricks College and BYU, where he received his Bachelor’s of Science Health & Human Performance.
He received his medical training from the Utah Physician Assistant at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He graduated in 2003 with a degree of Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS).
He is Certified by the National Certifying Committee of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a Fellow Member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). He is licensed to practice medicine in Idaho.
Wendy Christiansen
Licensed Master Esthetician
Wendy joined our practice in March of 2018. She earned an Associate of Science degree from BYU-I in Marriage and Family Relations. She also received her Master Esthetics License at SkinScience Institute in Salt Lake City in 2007. Teaching and educating is something Wendy loves. She greatly enjoyed her time at SkinScience as an instructor. Wendy owns her own skin care business as well, servicing her clients for many years, and continues to do so.
Wendy comes to our office experienced in many different areas of aesthetics. She has been professionally trained in Jane Iredale®, a skin care makeup, specializing in color matching and camouflage techniques, as well as many other medical grade skin care lines. She enjoys working with clients who suffer from acne, aging skin, and skin discolorations. Wendy loves people and connecting to her patients individually. She is easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable. Other interests include reading, spending time with her family and working in her yard with her children.
